MANAGING ATTORNEY
Eloy is an ILD Managing Attorney providing consultation and legal representation to individuals through ILD’s Legal-Education partnerships within the California Community College and California State University (CSU) systems.
EXPERIENCE Eloy formerly worked at RAICES in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was a Senior Staff Attorney at the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES). While at RAICES, Eloy’s work included removal defense for both detained and non-detained individuals, as well as helping intending immigrants with family petitions, humanitarian visa applications, and citizenship applications.
Eloy's prior experience also includes serving as a Senior Attorney at the American Bar Association's Commission on Immigration, where he supervised the Immigration Detention Hotline. He also worked as a Staff Attorney at Catholic Charities’ St. Frances Cabrini Center for Immigrant and Legal Services in Houston, where his work focused on representing children and families to obtain Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) and Asylum. He began his legal career as a Legal fellow at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) - Houston, where he assisted Pro bono attorneys representing children on Asylum and SIJS.
EDUCATION Eloy holds a B.A. in Spanish Literature and Political Science from Columbia University. He received his JD from Columbia Law School. Eloy is a member of the Texas Bar and is fluent in Spanish.
