STAFF ATTORNEY

Griselda is an ILD Staff Attorney providing consultation and direct representation to individuals through our Legal-Education partnerships within the California State University (CSU) and California Community College (CCC) systems, as well as detained and non-detained clients before the immigration courts- including individuals in the National Qualified Representative Program (NQRP) who have been determined by the immigration court to be unable to represent themselves due to mental health disabilities.

EXPERIENCE Before joining ILD, Griselda worked at California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation (CRLAF) for five years as a paralegal and OLAP fully accredited representative, where she helped develop their removal defense program. In this role, Griselda created resource materials and processes to help individuals in removal proceedings understand their rights during proceedings. She also provided direct representation on a variety of affirmative immigration matters.

Griselda was the inaugural Valerie Zukin Memorial Fellow and spent her summer fellowship with ILD working on a detained removal case.

EDUCATION Griselda holds a B.A. in Spanish from the University of California, Davis, a minor in Community Development, and a J.D. from Lincoln Law School of Sacramento. She is fluent in Spanish.
