MANAGING ATTORNEY

Misha is an ILD Managing Attorney providing consultation and legal representation to individuals through ILD’s Legal-Education partnerships within the California Community College (CCC) system, a unique program that provides immigration legal services to students and community members over thirty Community Colleges throughout the state of California. She provides direct representation on a variety of immigration matters, including removal defense, asylum, family-based immigration, various forms of humanitarian relief, naturalization, and more.

EXPERIENCE Prior to joining ILD, Misha was a Managing Attorney at Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto (CLSEPA), where she worked for more than seven years. At CLSEPA, Misha held a large and varied immigration caseload, supervised a team of attorneys and support staff, and managed a portfolio of philanthropic and government grants. Misha initially joined CLSEPA as an Equal Justice Works fellow, where she created and launched the first local “juvenile docket” in collaboration with the San Francisco Immigration Court, assisting hundreds of minors at their immigration court hearings. Misha has also served as a Staff Attorney at the Center for Gender & Refugee Studies and Attorney Advisor at the San Francisco Immigration Court. Misha currently serves on the Advisory Council for the Northern California Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and is a member of the AILA National EOIR Committee.

EDUCATION Misha holds a BA in Psychology at UC Santa Cruz and a JD from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings College of the Law), and an M.Sc. in Human Rights from the London School of Economics. She is a member of the California bar and is fluent in Spanish.
